The weekend in Wenatchee was all the more enjoyable for those at the Wenatchee Valley Museum and cultural Center http://www.wenatcheewa.gov/Index.aspx?page=32 with the very special performance by the Ugandan Orphans Choir and for them in being entertained by Cindy and Bill Rietvelt AKA Giant Beaver and Giant Coyote. Thank you to Selena denko for the many wonderful pictures she sent to me of this wonderful event. What a joy to see the faces of these Ugandan children as they played and posed with the giant puppets on the steps in front of the museum and played with the puppets in production. I only wish I could have been there to partake in this part of Kids Art Day at the museum. Meanwhile some important art news and updates are needed here. First the dates are fast approaching for the clay modeling class to be held May 14th, 21st, and 28th at the Cashmere Arts and Activities Center. Those interested in registering for the class can call Artie Bowman at 509 669-4581. Two Rivers Gallery will be accepting new art for it’s May/June show the weekend of April 30th through Monday May 2nd. Two Rivers is also happy to share that they have a new Facebook page at: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Two-Rivers-Gallery/202718556425459. The members at Two Rivers are looking forward to another record level of participation on their upcoming First Friday as are the participants of Wenatchee First Friday: http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/pages/Wenatchee-First-Fridays/129705417101907 .
