Well, the art and art activities goes on here in our little valley. Martha has been continuing with her mural at our friend’s house and is making great progress with her new clay model that she has been doing in our kitchen.
Meanwhile I have been working on matting skills and working on some of my photos that have been screaming to be framed.
The big event for tomorrow during the day will be the art and art supply art sale t Two Rivers Gallery. For which I picked up quite a bit of art materials and supplies at our friend Artie Bowman’s who teaches oil painting at her home in Wenatchee. She was so generous to donate so much material to the gallery for the yard sale. After picking up the materials from Artie Bowman's for the yard sale tomorrow, I stopped in at Terry Johnson’s studio at Terry signs, where the Mad Potter was busy at work on some really innovative new works. These new pots are as much sculpture as they are pottery. These incredible ne pieces have faces emerging from one side and anything from salmon to bird or just feathers emerging from the tops or other sides of the pieces. They should be quite impressive when they are done. He also, had completed some new two dimensional art with Indian themes. While I was there Terry related to me that he too was picking up quite a bit of material for the yard sale at Two Rivers Gallery tomorrow. He has a truck and Jan Theriault does not. Such is how it is when you have a truck… believe me I know.
But, what I am really excited about for tomorrow is the big event in Cashmere. That would be the Second Saturday Art show opening and reception for the Scott Allen exhibit at The Cashmere Arts and Activities Center in Cashmere from 5 to 8pm. We are so excited to have his work at CAAC says Artie Bowman. And, of course having the talented young singer Selena Rose performing for us. There will also be wine and snacks available. It’s going to be a big long day tomorrow for us, but we will have a great time.
