Wenatchee at Kelowna 6:35 tonight.
Pesky Playoff Picture
Thank you Victoria. On their way home from Wenatchee the HarbourCats stopped in Bellingham yesterday afternoon and upended the Bells 3-2. Now Wenatchee’s magic number over the Bells is one...a single AppleSox win and a single Bell loss and Bellingham is out of the playoff picture. By the way, Walla Walla is in. Whether they are first or second is yet to be determined, but the Onions are in the bag.
For Wenatchee to miss the playoffs Bellingham has to win their three remaining games at Victoria, and the AppleSox have to lose their three at Kelowna. And then the makeup game with Walla Walla would have to be played Monday, and Wenatchee would have to lose that one. If this wild scenario happened, the AppleSox and Bells would be tied for second and the latter would advance to the playoff because they won the series between the two 5-1.
If by Sunday night if it’s down to the Sox and Sweets for who is seeded one and two and the answer is not clear, there is a possibility that instead of a makeup game Monday, a coin of the realm will be flipped.
