Wenatchee at Corvallis 6:40 tonight.  Second round of WCL two-out-of-three championship series.  Corvallis leads 1-0.

Playoff Stuff

* The AppleSox are 12-8 in divisional and championship playoff games away from home, and have a two-game win streak (Corvallis last years, Walla Walla this year).

* They are 5-4 overall, and 2-1 in Corvallis.

* In the past eight WCL championship series, only two have gone to three games.  The first five all were settled in two.  In two of the last three years it took three contests to decide the winner, and the AppleSox were involved in both.  In 2010 the Sox beat Bend on the road, lost at home and followed with a victory at home.  Last summer  it was the same scenario with Corvallis, a win at Goss Stadium then a loss and win at Paul Thomas Sr. Baseball Stadium.

* Did you know that the local nine played three games in Yakima?  And that Wenatchee is 3-0 there?  Back on the old days of the Pacific International League the south central Washington city hosted the 2002 championship tournament.  The AppleSox took the title with wins over the Aloha Knights (now Corvallis), Portland Kings and Seattle Studs.

Hot

The 2013 season was the second hottest for home games in history.  The average high on the 31 game days at the airport was 88.3.  The record is 88.6 in 2009.

16.2

Minutes Per Inning Home games this season averaged exactly two hours and thirty minutes.  The longest game was the first, a 14-inning affair with Corvallis that lasted 3 hours, 49 minutes.  The shortest was the third game with Kitsap that was over in 1 hour, 51 minutes.  The average game time for all the years is 2 hours, 33 minutes.

Long Season

Today is he latest in August the AppleSox have ever played a game.  Twice (2008 and ‘12) they played on the 18th.
