Wenatchee 2, Victoria 0 last night.

Wenatchee at Victoria 7:05 tonight.

The shutout last night was the AppleSox second this year and the 56th team in history.

Did you know?  This is not the first time Wenatchee has played in the British Columbia capital.  In 2004 the AppleSox ventured north of the border and played a couple of nonleague games with the Victoria Royals.  The Evergreen State squad won both, 20-10 and 7-6.  A couple weeks later the Royals showed up here in town and the results were the same, a rout (31-6) and a squeaker (11-10).

The Name Game, Given Name Version

Ryan takes the lead.  When Ryan Barr joined the AppleSox his first name became the most popular moniker in 14 years.  There are now 11 Ryan’s who have played here.  The name had been tied with Kyle at 10.  The Ryan's – Barnes, Barr, Brown, Davis, Drobny, Gorton, Graves, Howell, Leahy, Smith and Sullivan.  The Kyle's – Conley, Corra, Davis, Dockins, Foster, Hooper, Johnson, Peterson, Ryckebosch and Wright.  The leaders in names Ryan 11, Kyle 10, Josh 8, Matt 8, Nick 7, Steve 7, Chris 6, Justin 6, Michael 6, Zach 6, Aaron 5, Brent 5, Brian 5, Derek 5, Eric 5, Jason 5 and John 5.

July 20 Games

One of the AppleSox best dates.  July 20 is one of four dates when Wenatchee have won at least 10 games.  They are 10-2 overall, 9-2 in league contests, 5-2 on the road and have a 3-game win streak.  And they’ve done quite well against Maple Leaf teams... well one team (5-1 vs. Kelowna).

North: WENATCHEE 22-15, Walla Walla 21-16, Bellingham 19-17, Victoria 15-18,  Kelowna 12-25

South:  Bend 21-14, Corvallis 21-15, Cowlitz 18-16, Medford 18-19, Klamath Falls 17-18, Kitsap 13-24
