Wenatchee 5, Corvallis 4 last night.
Everett Merchants at Wenatchee tonight 7:05.
A revival of the old days. Wenatchee and Everett battled 25 times back when they were foes in the Pacific International League from 2000 to 2004. The two clubs have not met for 8 years, 10 months and 17 days since their last encounter in July of ‘04. The AppleSox and Merchants were very competitive. Wenatchee has a 13-12 lead in the series, but Everett leads 119-118 in runs scored. At Paul Thomas they are all even at 7-7. The AppleSox have a 2-game win streak in the series, and have won seven of the last eight.
The Merchant roster sent over several days ago shows 26 players and all the hometowns are in the Evergreen State...in fact all on the west side...in fact all in Snohomish and King counties.
June 8 games
Wenatchee is 6-1 overall, 2-1 in nonleague games and 3-1 at home. They have a 3-game win streak.
If you like close games the WCL is the place to be...at least so far. Fifteen games have been played and the average winning margin is 1.8 runs. Seven have been decided by a single run, five by two, two by three and the rout so far is the Corvallis 6-2 win over our local heroes Thursday.
There was an error yesterday on the league site. A nonleague game between Medford and Klamath Falls was show as a league game.
