Wenatchee 3, Kitsap 0 last night

Kitsap at Wenatchee 7:05 tonight.

The AppleSox have now won 12 straight over the BlueJackets.

How Low Can You Go?
Ten. That’s the total runs scored in Wenatchee’s last four games...total, as in by both teams combined (Walla Walla wins 2-0, Wenatchee 2-1, Walla Walla 2-0, Wenatchee 3-0). This is lowest for a 4-game stretch in team history (old record 11 in 2006).

Three shutout results in four
games...gotta be a record. Nope. In June 2011 the local nine blanked Kelowna three times in two days on the home diamond.

A bit on Bremerton’s minor league baseball history. The name BlueJackets comes from the Navy town’s entry in the Western International League. Bremerton competed in that league for four seasons, from 1946 to 1949, and one of their fellow league members was the Wenatchee Chiefs. There was a minor difference in the spelling of the mascot in those days as they were known as he Bremerton Bluejackets...lower case “j”. They played right in town at Roosevelt Field which was build in 1926 and demolished in 1992. and the property is now the parking lot for Olympic College.

June 22 games
On this date Wenatchee is 7-4 overall and all have been league games. They are 4-2 at home and have a 4-game win streak.
