Medford 5, Wenatchee 4 and Medford 2, Wenatchee 1 yesterday

Wenatchee at Medford 6:35 tonight.

Road Woes Continue

The AppleSox are now 1-7 in “away” games...a new unwanted team record.  The previous worst road 8-game start was 2-6 in 2001 and 2007.

And More Nail Biters

Wenatchee has played 15 league contests with eight of them decided by a single run (they’ve won four).

The second event yesterday was the 300th road game for the AppleSox.  They have won 59.3 percent...178-122.

June 26

Games For some reason the 26th has not been a popular date for Wenatchee games.  They’ve only played a half dozen times...the fewest from June 7 to August 10.  They are 4-2 overall, 2-2 in league games, 2-1 on the road and have a 2-game win streak.

Dearth of Round Trippers

Do you sense our local heroes have not been whacking very many balls over the outfield fences?  Then you are correct.  One-third of the season is over (real close...19 of 58 games) and on a homers-per-game basis 2013 is 14th of 14 seasons.  With three home runs the average is .16 per game.  The lowest average so far is .20 in 2007 (10 in 51 games).

Speed Ball

The game at home with Kitsap Sunday was the second fastest 9-inning home game in history.  The entire affair (actually 8½ frames) was over in one hour and 51 minutes.   It was the ninth 9-inning home game played in less than two hours.  The record is 1:47 for a game with Kelowna in 2009.
