Baseball Blurbs by Bruce

The West Coast League All-League teams were released today and four AppleSox were named to the second team – Michael McCann, catcher; Caleb Wood, second base; Sam Brown, outfield and Brandon Bailey, starting pitcher.  Wood was fourth in the league with a .360 batting average, Brown was 13th at .340 and McCann was tied for 25th at .318.  Bailey, with a 1.37 ERA, led the team in strike outs with 43 and that tied him for 16th in the league.  Three additional AppleSox received honorable mention – A.J. Alcantara, Tyler Frost and Shaun Vetrovec.

In 15 seasons the AppleSox have had 43 all-league first team players and 37 on the second team.  This the first time Wenatchee did not have a player selected to the first team.
