MENS BASKETBALL (6-8, 12-15)

WVC Stuff

12 wins is the most in 10 years.  Six league wins is the most in seven years and ties for the most in 11.

74.78 ppg is the highest in seven years, as is the 81.37 given up.

The loss to Big Bend Wednesday was the 1,000th in program history.  They have won 672.

7-3 record at home is first winning record in W.B. Smith in 10 years, and a monster improvement over last season’s 1-7 mark.

Aaron Ward’s 14.70 ppg place him 63rd on the list of the 107 players that have averaged 12.00+ in one season.

 

East Region Stuff

The present league has existed for 36 years.  Blue Mountain has been a member 30 years and Treasure Valley 12.

Treasure Valley’s championship is their first.  Big Bend and Spokane lead with 10 each.

Big Bend has the highest winning percentage through the years at 63.8.  WVC is seventh at 40.0.

Walla Walla’s seventh place this season is their lowest ever.

Blue Mountain’s highest finish is third (twice).

 

The league site is short two games in the individual stats – Northwest Indian College on 11/23 and Clackamas on 12/1.

 

Final Standings: Treasure Valley 11-3, Columbia Basin 10-4, Big Bend 9-5, Spokane 7-7, Wenatchee Valley 6-8, Yakima Valley 6-8, Walla Walla 5-9, Blue Mountain 2-12

 

WOMENS BASKETBALL (6-8. 14-15)

WVC Stuff

14 wins ties with 2012-13 for second most in eight years, and six league wins ties with last season for the most in seven years.

61.97 ppg is the highest in six years.

6-4 record at home is first winning record in W.B. Smith in seven years.

For the second consecutive year they have ended the season with three consecutive victories.

Darian Gasseling’s 337 points place her 38th on the list of the 55 players that have scored 300+ in one season.

 

East Region Stuff

The two teams combined for 12 league wins (6 each).  The last time the combined total was at least that many was eight years ago in 2006-07 when they had 15 (9 women, 6 men).
