Medford 8, Wenatchee 4 last night.
Wenatchee (4-3) at Medford (6-2) 6:35 tonight.
Two former AppleSox playing for the Mariners?
According to a story yesterday in the Jason Hammel possibly could be headed to Seattle. The story said, “Sources say the Cubs already have had trade talks with multiple teams regarding Jeff Samardzija and right-hander Jason Hammel. The Braves, Mariners and Blue Jays are among the most interested, with one source suggesting offers already have been made by at least two teams.  And one major-league source said he expects Hammel to end up in Seattle.”
Hammel, a right-handed pitcher,  played for Wenatchee in 2001 and has had a nine-year major league career,  If he would come to the Emerald City he would join current Mariner Cole Gillespie who played for the AppleSox in 2004.
Wenatchee in the Beaver State
The AppleSox have played 74 games on the south side of the Columbia and the Oregonians hold the upper hand.  Wenatchee trails 42-32 on Oregon soil.  They have an 8-1 record against Klamath Falls, but losing marks to Corvallis 12-18, Bend 11-20 and Medford 1-3.
