Knight softball looking good for playoffs, baseball needs a surge

BASEBALL (7-9, 13-13)The top four teams in the East at the end of the regular season advance to the East Regional.  At the moment WVC is fifth three games behind fourth-place Columbia Basin.  Time to make a move.  This week the Knights face the sixth and eighth place outfits and then the going gets a tad tougher…they finish with the four teams currently in front of them.

SOFTBALL (3-3, 3-4)Tuesday, Cascade (2-0, 5-5) home.* A game with the Leavenworth school has become an annual event as is this is seventh straight year the two teams 23 miles apart have met.* The 4A school holds a 4-3 lead in wins over their 1A neighbor.* Last spring WHS topped CHS 15-5.* This is the Panthers second and final nonleague game.

Knights: baseball tied for first, softball huge series this weekend

SOFTBALL (5-3, 14-5)An early season road test.  On back-to-back days Wenatchee Valley is facing two teams with a combined 15-0 record in league games and 33-2 overall.  (The league site is quite messed up so these are numbers from there and from what I’ve been able to put together…they may not be totally accurate.)  Suffice it to say, both Spokane and North Idaho are off to terrific starts.Friday, Spokane (7-0, 15-1) away.* Some different league scheduling this season.  The past several seasons each team played each of the other teams ...
