AppleSox get first victory

Baseball Blurbs by Bruce Wenatchee 6, Corvallis 3 last night.  A VICTORY! Corvallis (4-4) at Wenatchee (1-7) 6:05 tonight. The Hare and the Tortoise Whew!  The first 4½ innings last night were over in 61 minutes or 13.6 minutes per inning.  But then!  The final four frames took 117 minutes or 29.3 minutes per inning.  The shortest inning the 5th at 11 minutes...the longest the 6th at 37 (but there was super stuff happened in there...like six home team runs). June 12 Games Today has been one of the better dates for Wenatchee through ...

Batter Up! AppleSox 17th season begins this evening

Baseball Blurbs by Bruce PLAY BALL!  BATTER UP! and all that kind of stuff.  AppleSox baseball returns this evening for the 17th Opening Night in team history.  How about this, the initial Opening Night was exactly 16 years ago on June 3, 2000.  A huge crowd showed up at Paul Thomas Sr. Baseball Stadium to see the new outfit in town...and to be greeted by kind of a  surprised and overwhelmed Sox staff.  What a start.  (By the way, the Bellingham Bells won 12-8.)      Opener HistorySeason openers: 12-48-4 at home7-2 league4-game ...

Panther girl golfers champions again. Baseball team #1 in state.

GIRLS GOLFLEAGUE CHAMPIONS!  With their 23rd consecutive league win yesterday, Wenatchee captured their fourth straight CBBN crown.  The Panthers were 20 strokes better than second-place Davis on the Moses Lake Country Club course.  WHS wrapped up the title with one match to go next week in Yakima.

WVC softball at home Friday and Saturday

SOFTBALL (9-7, 14-11)Friday, Big Bend (5-11, 6-16) home.- One might say the Knights have done fairly well against the Vikings the past nine seasons, like they won 34 of 35.- At Moses Lake last month WVC swept a twin bill 11-3 and 13-10.- Overall the Black and Silver lead the series 61-13.  At home they are 31-8, have won 17 in a row and 26 of 27.- Shelly Pflugrath is 54-12 vs. BBCC.
