Review: "Xanadu"

The first official Opening Night Club met last night at the Riverside Playhouse to watch Music Theatre of Wenatchee's Apple Blossom production of 'Xanadu'. Director Paul Atwood picked an extremely well written comedy with songs that you will be humming in your car on the drive home. Paul has been directing shows all over town for years, and his shows are consistently entertaining. His production of the musical 'Xanadu' is no exception.

Dancing Zebra at the NuArt, Plein-Air at Beecher Hill and a Classy Chassis Clay Art Class

Well, great things continue to take place in the arts community around town. Serendipity was the word for the day yesterday for Artist Martha Flores who was happy to find amongst the old photos she brought back with her from a recent trip to visit aging parents in El Salvador, a clipping of her and Robert ‘Bob’ Graves from a Wenatchee World article from the early ‘90s that she had long since given up hope of ever finding. In that article she the first local Ethnic Heritage Award and Robert ...

Two First Fridays From the Trippy to the Traditional

Well, I’m back from California… the OC to be exact. And, so Knowing I would miss the third year anniversary of Two Rivers Gallery’s First Friday and ‘Celebration of the Membership’ at the co-op gallery, I made sure to get in there and get some pics prior to First Friday while the show was being set-up. I wasn’t disappointed.

Giant Mammoth, African Art and Harvest Pide on a Pedestal

Well, there was art stuff happening in the Valley and Beyond yesterday. First thing in the Morning it was time to help change out the Martha Flores ‘Inflorescence’ art at the Icicle Arts Gallery in Leavenworth to make room for the incoming photo exhibit by local Photographer Reed Carlson. That should be a great show, and I am definitely interested to see it.

Empty Bowles to Full Palettes

Well, there’s lots going on for art in the valley and beyond. Saturday was the third annual general meeting and social for the Two Rivers Gallery which was well attended and a good deal of fun as well. This year meeting of the membership was held right in the gallery itself. Many new and old members were present and much to the appreciation of all was the presence of the galleries prime benefactor Frederick Johnson. At the meeting it was announced that the gallery will share a booth with the ...
