Woody Goomsba sells Texans on local video company

Austin-1

Woody Goomsba, Leavenworth’s nutcrackin’ viral-video star, just keeps on grabbing attention.

Seems that tourism folks in Austin, Texas, saw der hippin-hoppin Goomsba video — the one with Bavarian babes shakin’ their dirndls — and wanted something just like it.

Well, not exactly like it. They wanted more country-style music, more cowboys and cowgirls, lots of famous Austin sights and absolutely no wiener schnitzels. Also: nix the nutcrackers.

So those Austin folks got in touch with Wenatchee’s North 40 Productions, maker of the now-famous Woody Goomsba music video (more than 450,000 views on YouTube — see it at Gowedia.com), to see what the local company could do for the “Live Music Capital of the World.”

The new video, “Austin Live: Tick Tock,” features all kinds of musicians and singers (see photo) performing all kinds of music in all kinds of funky places around the city. North 40 director Jeff Ostenson touts the work as a new kind of destination marketing.

“Rather than show a bunch of pretty people doing pretty things, these are real bands at real venues,” he said. “You can see them play next time you visit Austin.”

Yep, it’s a slick video about a cool city. You can see it at youtube.com/user/visitaustintx.
