Tech-heads take note … step into East Wenatchee’s new GESA Credit Union office, and you step into the future.
Open for about three weeks, the GESA branch boasts the only three Personal Teller Machines (PTMs) in Washington amid a light sprinkling of the whiz-bang gadgets in other western states. The machines allow you to interact with live tellers based in the Tri-Cities via a hefty-sized computer touch-screen on which you can make deposits, withdrawals, transfers, loan payments and even flirty goo-goo eyes.
Last week, Assistant Branch Manager Tiffani Douglass (in photo) stood at one of the machines and chatted with PTM teller Julie about how GESA members have given a thumbs-up to the machines. “It’s the convenience of an ATM machine,” said Tiffani, “but with the personal touch of a live teller.”
Just across the room stood another snazzy gizmo — an electronic info station that eliminates those stacks of bank brochures that explain financial services. Instead, GESA’s info station lets members read all that stuff on the screen, send it to their personal email accounts or print out a single copy on demand. “Saves tons of paper,” said Tiffani, “and helps our efforts to go green.”
The beep-a-boop of computers not your style? No worries. GESA provides real, live human employees who’ll usher you into comfortable offices to open an account, make a deposit, talk about loans and — while supplies last — offer you a free insulated tote bag and hot-cold beverage cup.
