Sheena Cameron’s cup runneth over — make that a 12-ounce cup of iced skinny hazelnut double latte with just a touch of low-cal whip.
For the last two years she’s managed one of Quincy’s busiest espresso stands, the bright yellow Gotta Have Java on the east end of town. And now she’s taken over management of the new Gotta Have Java, formerly The Coffee Cabin on the corner of Fifth and Miller streets in Wenatchee. Both coffee spots are owned by her parents, Harvey and Diana Cameron, who opened the Wenatchee outlet last month.
“We’ve always wanted to have a place in the Wenatchee area,” said Sheena. “It was one of the most-asked questions from our customers in Quincy — when will we open in Wenatchee?”
The Camerons bought The Coffee Cabin from Lindsay Blade, who operated the cabin-like coffee shop for more than 10 years. Blade’s Facebook post announcing the sale says she’ll continue to run her coffee stand at Town Toyota Center.
Sheena said there’ll be no big changes at the new Gotta Have Java. The staff? Same. The menu? Same, with new options of almond milk and vanilla soy and the addition of Jet Teas in strawberry, mango and peach flavors. Dillano coffee is featured; espresso shakes available. The decor? Same cozy cabin atmosphere with the addition of some classy new tables, new wall hangings and few other touches. The deck? Same spacious outdoor seating.
“We love the look and feel of this space,” said Sheena. “It’s friendly, comfortable and customers love it.”
