Peoples Bank's in a crisp new place

Don’t panic if you rattle the door at Peoples Bank in downtown Wenatchee and find everybody gone. Last week, they moved your money — along with staff and some equipment (they left every abacus behind) — to a bigger, brighter building about 10 blocks north.

The new 10,000-square-foot location in the former Town Nissan dealership, 901 N. Mission St., has been renovated top to bottom for spaciousness, natural light and customer comfort, bank execs say.

The building’s newly minted exterior has a slick metal facade that’s reminiscent of (hmmm) shiny coins. A drive-up window lets you deposit your bags o’ cash from the car. And welcome green spaces around the building soften the busy-ness of that bustling corner.

“Since we opened in 2003, Wenatchee has been extremely supportive of Peoples Bank,” said Executive Vice President Tony Repanich. “Our new flagship Financial Center demonstrates our continued commitment to serving the financial needs of this community.”

Just so you know, the family-owned, Lynden-based Peoples Bank has 23 branches around the state with $1.2 billion in assets. They also have a branch housed inside the Safeway store in East Wenatchee, so you can feed your offshore accounts and buy Hamburger Helper all in one trip.
