Cashmere Chamber wants your nominations

Maybe you know somebody in Cashmere who’s gone beyond the call of duty as a business person or a community supporter?

Yes? Then you need to get on the stick and nominate them for Business Person or Citizen of the Year, the top annual awards of the Cashmere Chamber of Commerce. The deadline for nominations is Jan. 31, and winners will be chosen by the review committee in early February. The award winners will be honored March 14 at the Chamber’s annual banquet.

Question is … what makes a good nominee? The business person should operate a business in Cashmere, be a member of the Chamber, be actively involved in the community, demonstrate excellence in their field and contribute to the area’s economic health. Nominees for top citizen should be active in local service projects, perhaps contribute in other ways to the community and donate time and energy beyond the usual efforts.

Nomination forms and a dropbox can be found at the city’s Post Office, city hall, Doane’s Valley Pharmacy, Clifford’s Hardware, Martin’s IGA Market Fresh, Cashmere Valley Bank and the Cashmere Chamber office.

For more info, call the Chamber at 782-7404.
