June 8 The beginning of the days leading up to Number 52. I like to stretch special occasions over a period of several days....or longer. We celebrated Number 50 over a period of three weeks, two of which were in Atlanta GA, but for this one we will celebrate at home...unless someone offers us an all-expense-paid trip to Spain or to Atlanta...or to Cobble Hill, B.C. We just met some fun people from there.

To be honest, our celebration began yesterday at Silvara Vineyards' Winemaker Dinner. Not only did we renew acquaintance with an interesting and fun couple, but we met several new friends. In case you haven't reached the magic number of 50 or more, let me tell you that I have discovered the secret of life. It lies in having friends. Most of ours are younger - some younger than any of our children. Some have become "chosen" children and have become part of our family. So, last night, dinner with friends and some excellent wines was the beginning.

Coming up...dinner tonight. At Home. If it weren't my bedtime, I'd tell you now, but you'll have to wait until tomorrow to learn which was our celebratory wine for the evening...if you are even one whit interested!

Ok, here is one clue: It involves the number 37.
