This is, for all practical purposes, a reposting of a blog I did in 2010.  I was 21 and in in college when the event mentioned below happened, and I don't think there was one single event that shaped my thought process then the events surrounding May 4th, 1970.  This was the entire blog._______________________________________The "B" side of the single, written by Steven Stills: "A" side of the single, written by Neil Young:"The pen is mightier than the sword but no match for a gun"  -- Mike Love_______________________________________That was it.  To answer the question that followed the first posting, the quote by Mike Love is from his 1971 re-write of the Jerry Leiber/Mike Stoller hit for both The Robins and The Coasters, "Riot In Cell Block #9".  It's from the Boyu's lp "Surf's Up". still makes me sad to think that George Santayana might be right, "Only the dead have seen the end of war".
