108th year of WHS football, 30th year of girls soccer begin Friday

FOOTBALLFriday begins the 108th year of Panther football.  The pigskin sport started in 1905 when WHS hosted Leavenworth and defeated them 38-0 on November 4.  There was no program in 1916, ’17 and ’18 during World War I.  In that very first year WHS had a 2-game schedule, Leavenworth and then the second team from Seattle’s Broadway High School and lost 6-0.  In 2015 the Panthers have 9-game schedule that begins with three nonleague contests and then moves on to six CBBN games.
