WOMENS BASKETBALL (2-3, 11-7)Wednesday, Big Bend (1-4, 8-11) home.* The series, WVC leads 62-26 and 35-9 on their home floor.* Close.  The Knights have won two of the past three games and the three have been decided by 2, 2 and 4 points.* The Vikings had dropped four straight games until they topped Walla Walla Saturday.* Can you believe?  After the first 30 games between these two beginning in 1978-79, the Knights had lost nary a game.

Knight basketball teams off to great start

MENS BASKETBALL (3-1)Thursday, South Puget Sound (0-2) away.* The Knights begin their two-day Western Washington adventure at the state capitol to take on South Puget Sound.* In six games to date the Clippers hold the upper hand 4-2 and are 1-0 at their place.* The last meeting was two seasons ago when SPSCC won 66-64 at a tourney at Big Bend.* The 0-2 Clippers lost to Edmonds and Olympic.* Last season SPS was 2-14 and last in the West Region, and 2-22 overall.

60th year of wrestling at WHS

WRESTLING This is the 60th season of wrestling at WHS. The sport started in 1955-56 under coach Manuel Diaz. Through six decades Wenatchee has had nine men head the program. The current coach is Ed Valdez and he begins his 11th year with an 84-50 record. The squad has earned points at the state meet 42 times in the first 59 years, with six top five finishes – second in 1999, tied for third 1997, got fourth in 1991 and fifth in 1962, ’93 and ’94. Knight men on annual turkey trot to Mount Vernon

MENS BASKETBALL (1-0)Friday, Saturday, Sunday at Skagit Valley Turkey Tournament.Aside from the host school, Wenatchee Valley has probably made more appearances at this event than any other team.  This will be their 26th entry in 28 years, and the 17th straight time the Black and Silver has made the trek to the Turkey Tourney.  In 52 TT games they have 21 wins and 31 losses.
