Rum Rebellion-The Show

Take  some punk music, add some acoustic guitar along with a tin whistle and a bit of the “right” attitude and you have “Rum Rebellion” playing Wally’s House Of Booze on a Sunday night

The “Rum Rebellion” , established 2005, is a five piece punker Celtic band from Portland Oregon featuring Dave Noise on acoustic guitar and lead vocals, Greg Warner on electric guitar and back-up vocals, Big John on drums, Alex Garnero on bass and back-up vocals and, the “star”  Tyler Bennett on back up vocals and tin-whistle. The biggest guy playing the smallest instrument but the tin-whistle totally gives this band it’s “sound”.

They started their 60 minute plus set with “Burn It Down” and shortly there after played one of my favorites “Stand Up”.  Both songs are off of their 2009 split “Pick Yer Poison”. They have also released two other full length CD’s, “Crusin’ For A Boozin’” 2006 and “Blackwater” 2011.

They ended the evening with “Street Punk”  and one other that I didn’t catch the name of.

For me, this was one of the best shows of the year.  I liked the Celtic and loved the tin-whistle, Tyler was amazing plus he doubled as the “merchandise guy” (I did buy two cd’s and a t-shirt…support DIY music). I surely hope that “Rum Rebellion” comes back to Wenatchee and should they, I highly recommend you taking in their show.

Also a big thank you to Wally’s House Of Booze and Snatchee Records for bringing in such a quality band, was awesome.
