The Opening Night Club are on their way again! Two shows are opening this weekend…want to join us?

“Men, Sex, and War” Two One Act Comedies TJ and I will head out to see the first of two shows playing in repertory at the Hurricane Club as part of “Men, Sex, and War” being produced by Mission: Improv. The three actors are friends of mine: Ted LeRoy, Matthew Pippin, and Jared Morgan—all with great acting chops. So I’m really looking forward to “Lone Star,” opening this Friday night and “Private Wars” on Saturday night. Both plays are written by James McClure and you can find details here:

This casting is great, you guys. I was in “Harvey” with both Matthew Pippin and Jared Morgan and had a wonderful time—they made it easy to be creative, really rolling with any ideas you might throw out as a co-actor. I last saw Ted LeRoy in “Killer’s Head,” an intense monologue by Sam Shepherd. Ted knocked it out of the park. I really can’t recommend these gentlemen any higher. Cynthia Brown is directing, so you can expect tight pacing, great comedic timing, and strong directorial choices.

Due to a roller derby conflict, we won’t be able to attend “Private Wars” this Saturday, but we’ll be there next weekend.

“Once Upon A Matress” We have to split up the Opening Night Club to hit the other show opening on the same night. So Kevin’s heading up to Leavenworth to catch Cascade High School’s “Once Upon a Mattress.” This classic musical takes on the fairy tale of The Princess and The Pea and sets it on its head. I don’t have a cast list (bad me!), but don’t let that stop you from heading West and giving the students a big opening night! It’s bound to be a lot of fun. A great family event, I bet. Here’s info:

See you at the theater! …or club! …or high school! It’s so varied these days.
