White Heron Cellars is hosting a pair of unique events this Saturday and next at its Trinidad location overlooking the Columbia Gorge.

This Saturday's event is White Heron's annual Bread, Cheese & Cured Meat Festival. The 6:30 p.m. event features breads and pastries from Vinman's Bakery in Ellensburg, artisan cheeses from Pine Stump Farms in Omak and cured meats from Glondo's Market in Cle Elum.

White Heron, of course, will provide the wine, and the the Dimestore Prophets from Moses Lake will provide rock dance music. The $10 fee goes to the band. Food and wine is available at additional costs.

Next Saturday, Aug. 23, White Heron will host the Veritas Medieval Faire. All you Game of Thrones addicts will want to catch this noon to 6 p.m. event featuring fairy princesses, magicians, jugglers, musicians, merchants and knights. A tournament of armored knights will perform period-correct fighting styles with spears, swords, daggers and pole axes.

It's a full day of programming that includes freshly prepared foods and nonstop entertainment. Soft drinks, beer and White Heron wines will be available. A banquet featuring period foods will follow the faire from 6 to 8 p.m. Seating is limited for the banquet.

General admission for the family-friendly faire is $7 adults and $5 kids 6-17. There's no cost for kids 5 and under. Call Eric Slyter at (509) 855-1500 for more information about the faire or banquet.

White Heron Cellars is located at 23832 Fine Wine Rd. NW, off Stuhlmiller Road and Highway 28 between East Wenatchee and Quincy. Check out www.whiteheronwine.com for more information.
