Many North Central Washington wines were top award winners in Wine Press Northwest's 14th Annual "Best of the Best in the Great Northwest" wine competition.

Only wines that have won gold medals or better in other 2013 competitions were invited to enter. The judging drew a record 634 entries from Washington, Oregon, British Columbia and Idaho.

Forty NCW wines received awards, including 3 of 26 Double Platinum awards, and 6 of 125 Platinum medals. Another 14 local wines won Double Gold medals and another 15 won Gold medals. The complete list can be found at www.winepressnw.com.

Six of the NCW wines were also named to the 2013 Top 100 Wines list by Great Northwest Wines, the wine news company that arranges wine competitions for Wine Press Northwest and for the North Central Washington Wine Awards, sponsored by Foothills magazine and World Publishing Co.

Here's a list of local wines that made the Top 100 list, followed by those awarded in the Best of the Best judging. Congratulations all!
