Winemaker's Journal — Local wines win at SF wine awards

Six North Central Washington wineries won several medals at the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition, the nation's largest wine judging event. Nearly 6,000 wines from 1,500 wineries in 25 states were entered. The judging was completed earlier this week.

Three local wineries earned gold medals for specific vintages. In all, six NCW wineries won 24 medals.

Gold medal winners were Malaga Springs Winery of Malaga, Martin-Scott Winery of East Wenatchee and Tsillan Cellars of Chelan.
