Winemaker's Journal — NCW Wine Awards Gala coming up

One of winter's biggest wine events — is this really winter? — is coming right up. If you like great food, great wine, terrific entertainment, art and informed gab — and who doesn't — then you won't want to miss the 11th Annual Wenatchee Winter Wine Gala Saturday, Jan. 25.

The event will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Wenatchee Valley Museum & Cultural Center. This is one of the museum's major fund-raising events. That in itself is a good reason to go, but this promises to really be a good time event. Co-sponsor of the gala, along with the museum, is Foothills magazine, creator of the North Central Washington Wine Awards and the Dream Meal competition. Award winners from both of those competitions will be there to serve prized wines and appetizers.

"It's going to be a rockin' party," said Brenda Abney, museum director.

The museum has lined up 16 local wineries, seven of the region's best chefs and restaurants and talented musicians of all types. The night also includes display of the NW Juried Art Show. Raffles of wine and gift baskets will be held through the evening.

Tickets are $40 for museum members and $45 for non-members. All wine and food tastings are included in the ticket price. Group prices are also available.

For tickets or more information, call the museum at 509-888-6240 or send email to info@wmcc.org. The museum is located at 127 S. Mission St.
