If you haven’t walked down the wine aisle of your local Safeway or Albertsons stores, now might be a good time to do so.
March is Taste Washington Wine Month and many grocery and liquor stores, as well as restaurants, wineries and other wine outlets, are holding promotional sales.
Safeway and Albertsons stores have most Washington wines priced at 20 percent off. Buy six bottles or more and you get another 10 percent discount. Of course, the discounts are taken off the full retail price that you usually don’t pay, but, still, this is the best time of year to stock up on those great Ste. Michelle, Columbia Crest, Red Diamond, 14 Hands, Waterbrook and many other wines.
Check out the Washington Wine Commission website, www.washingtonwine.org, for deals and events continuing all month. You might also want to attend the Taste Washington Festival, March 23-26 in Seattle. Go to tastewashington.org to find out more about that big event.
