Wenatchee High School students will cast their votes for president and more Nov. 1 during the school’s Mock Election.
Students use replicas of actual ballots made especially by the Chelan County Auditor’s Office for the election. Results should be available early Nov. 2.
The choices of these voters-to-be aren’t just rubber stamps of their parents’ political views. In 2008, nearly 64 percent of students cast their votes for then democratic candidate Barak Obama, compared to less than 30 percent for republican John McCain.
Adult voters county wide picked McCain over Obama by a nearly 12-point margin. This year’s tally is bound to be interesting.
