Born to John and Nancy Cox in Cashmere, WA on November 1, 1938, and he passed away in Moses Lake, WA, August 13, 2007, at age 68.

Fred was born and raised in Cashmere, WA. He grew up fishing on the banks of the Wenatchee River, along with all his siblings. Fred graduated from high school and enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1956.

Upon his return, Fred worked in the fruit warehouse industry as a supervisor for many years in the Cashmere area. He had very fond memories of the people he worked with over the years. During these years he married Belinda and raised four children. Fred met and married Kathy, in Soap Lake, WA in 2002. Fred loved fishing, hunting and going for rides in the car, looking for other wildlife with his wife, Kathy. He had a passion for nature and gardening and his father taught him to make knives at an early age. Fred was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be sorely missed by all who new him. Fred was preceded in death by his mother and father; a brother, Kynion Cox; and two baby sisters. He is survived by his wife, Kathy of Soap Lake, WA; his children and their families, son, John Cox of Echo, OR; daughters, LeOnna Dwire and Belinda Breshears, both of Cashmere, WA and Laura Cox of Spokane, WA; sisters, Ethel Halcomb of Ocean Springs, MS; Cary Blackwell of Pratville, AL and Lois Hardesty of Cashmere, WA; brothers, John Cox of Cashmere, WA and Walter Cox of Anacortes, WA; five grandchildren; three stepchildren; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. Our fond memories will remain always. Memorial Services to be held Saturday, August 18, 2007, at 12 Noon at Simpson Park in Cashmere, WA with potluck to follow.
