Zora Jean Ringstad of East Wenatchee

"Jean" as she preferred to be called, passed away April 17, 2007, at the age of 71 years and 6 months, at Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee surrounded by her family after a long battle with heart problems and Cancer.
She was born October 17, 1935, in Hayworth, OK to Arther R. and Maude G. Kimberlin. At the age of six, she moved with her family to Washington State, settling first in Brewster, then moving to Omak where she attended school.
She married Roy Ringstad on June 2, 1951.
They lived in Omak for a few years, where their two children were born. Then, in 1956, they moved to Renton, WA.
Jean worked as a waitress for a few years, then was employed at the Boeing Co. as an electronic assembler. They retired in 1992, and moved to Othello, WA. Then, due to ill health in 2004, they moved to East Wenatchee to be closer to the medical facilities.
Jean is survived by her husband, Roy of East Wenatchee; one son, Lonnie Ringstad of Mattawa, WA; one daughter and son-in-law, Renae (Ringstad) and Bruce Givan of Corvalis, OR; two granddaughters, Jeannie (Givan) and Nathan Walters of Corvalis, OR and Treasure (Givan) and Andy Samuel of Seattle, WA; one grandson, Aaron and Judy Ringstad; and two great-granddaughters, Nicole Jade and Taylor Elizabeth, all of Deer Park, WA. She is also survived by one brother, Dave Kimberlin of Othello, WA and two sisters, Maxine (Kimberlin) Hickethier of Wenatchee and Marie (Kimberlin) Stombaugh of Des Moines, WA; four sisters-in-law, Barbara (Dave) Kimberlin of Othello, Beth (Herman) Kimberlin of Omak, WA, Manda (Ringstad) Van Deventer of Boardman, OR and Florence (Ringstad) Berg of Rainier, OR; one brother-in-law, Aaron Hickethier of Wenatchee; plus several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; one sister-in-law; and two nephews. Jean loved Bruce, Nathan, Andy and Judy as though they were her own children. A public viewing was held at the Precht-Harrison-Nearents Chapel in Okanogan on April 19, 2007. She was laid to rest at the Omak Memorial Cemetery on April 20, 2007, after Graveside Services with Pastor John Richards officiating from the First Baptist Church in Omak. The Prech-Harrison-Nearents Funeral Service Directors were in charge of arrangements. Jean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
She will be missed by her family and friends.
