Johnnie L. Baird

Johnnie L. Baird, 80, of East Wenatchee, died Thursday, Sept. 20, 2007, at Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee.

He had lived in East Wenatchee for five years and was a former 54-year Leavenworth resident. He worked as a tail sawyer in a lumber mill.

Survivors include his children, John “Chip“ Baird of Cashmere and Janna Donoghue of East Wenatchee; his brothers, Monroe Baird of Peshastin and R.L. Baird of LaFollette, Tenn.; and his sisters, Evelyn Campbell, Martha Baird, Mary Wilburn, Jean Morgan, Ruth Peters and Leona Smiddy, all of Tennessee.

A private family burial will be held at Mountain View Cemetery in Leavenworth.

Arrangements are by Ward's Funeral Chapel, Leavenworth.

Marilyn S. (Wortman) Statler

Marilyn S. (Wortman) Statler, 63, of Malott, died Monday, Sept. 10, 2007, at her home.

She was born in Indianapolis, Ind., and later lived in Seattle before moving to Malott. She worked as an international freight forwarder and as an export manager for All Freight International.

Survivors include her husband, Ronald Statler of Malott; her stepchildren, Randy Statler of Malott and Dan Statler of Okanogan; her mother, Mary Wortman of Omak; her sister, Anne Donaldson of Indianapolis, Ind.; and her brother, Richard Wortman Jr. of Visalia, Calif.

A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sept. 29 at Omak Memorial Cemetery, followed by a memorial service at her home in Malott.

Arrangements are by Precht-Harrison-Nearents Chapel, Okanogan.

Eva L. Deal

Eva L. Deal, 100, of Wenatchee, died Thursday, Sept. 20, 2007.

She was a longtime Wenatchee Valley resident, where she worked at Deaconess Hospital and was a homemaker.

Survivors include her children, Lawrence “Larry“ Deal and Stephen Deal, both of Wenatchee. A private family inurnment will be held at Evergreen Memorial Park in East Wenatchee. Arrangements are by Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.

Orville Johnson

Orville Johnson, 77, of East Wenatchee, died Friday, Aug. 31, 2007.

He had lived in East Wenatchee for 26 years and worked as a merchant seaman. Survivors include his wife, Sony Johnson; and his children, Jocena Penaranda Hernandez, Josephine Penaranda and Dana Johnson Bates.

A veterans memorial will be held at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent at a later date.

Richard A. Satran

Richard A. Satran, 57, of Omak, died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2007. He had lived in Omak for two years. He had worked most of his life in construction, and owned Stone and Tile in Okanogan. Survivors include his wife, Helen Satran of Vale, Ore., his children, Reece Satran of Juneau, Alaska, and Joe Satran of Vale, Ore.; his mother, Elaine Satran of Palm Desert, Calif.; and his sisters, Sheri Satran of Seattle and Sue LeBarge of Palm Desert, Calif. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Alaska. Arrangements are by Legacy Funeral Home, Omak.

Edith Stone

Edith Stone, 90, of Tonasket, died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2007. She had lived in Tonasket for four years. She had worked in Mount Vernon and Anacortes as a waitress and was also a homemaker. Survivors include her daughter, Sharon Jackson of Oroville. A private family memorial will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Legacy Memorial Funeral Home, Omak.
