Anna Lois Whittington

Anna Lois Whittington, age 89, of Oroville, WA, went to be with the Lord on September 13, 2008, in the North Valley Nursing Home in Tonasket, WA. She was born Anna Lois Tolbert on May 30, 1919, in McCurtain, OK. Lois married Raymond "Ray" Whittington in Oklahoma City, OK on August 9, 1937. They were married 45 years, and had seven children. Lois and Ray lived in several different states before settling in Tonasket, WA in 1957, and later moving to Oroville. Lois accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior in 1950. She was a great example of what she believed. Her first and foremost request to her children and family is: "Live for Jesus so you can meet me in heaven." Her favorite hobby was her children and family. One of Lois' latest hobbies was emailing to all her email buddies, including family members, which totaled over 150. Learning to use the computer was a great accomplishment at the age of 82. Past hobbies included sewing, embroidery, writing songs, hat collecting and yard sales. She was a Sunday school teacher and Children's Church leader for many years. Lois was a member of the Assembly of God in Oroville, where she became know as the "HAT LADY." Lois is survived by her brother, Carl Tolbert of Brookhaven, MS; sisters, Naomi Winters of Iowa Falls, IA, Marie Pierce of Terlton, OK and Nila Dubberke of Tulsa, OK; daughters, Nancy (Gary) Moore of Boise, ID, Rayetta (Jack) Caddy of Tonasket, WA, Faye (Wayne) Maddox of Kennewick, WA and Tina Whittington of Portland, OR; son, Donald (Christine) Whittington of Tonasket, WA; and over 140 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Whittington; daughters, Connie Mae Whittington and Darlene Krupkat Rohleder; parents, Nora and Elmer Tolbert; a sister, Ruby Greenlee; and brothers, John Edward Tolbert and James Ezra Tolbert. Services will be held Friday, September 19, 2008, at 11:00 a.m., at the Oroville Assembly of God, 623 Central, Oroville, WA. Interment in the Tonasket Cemetery. Pastor Dwayne Turner of the Oroville Assembly will be officiating the Service. Lois may be reached at: AWHIT82@HEAVEN.ORG. Bergh Funeral Service of Oroville/Tonasket is in care of arrangements.
