Helen Louise (Joy) Snider

Helen Louise (Joy) Snider was born January 5, 1912, to Charles and Louise Joy in Cashmere, WA. Helen died November 18, 2009, at Evergreen Hospital in Kirkland, WA. Helen graduated from Cashmere High School and attended Washington State College in Pullman . She represented the Washington State Apple Commission at the Chicago World's Fair in 1934, where she met her husband, Rudolph "Rudy" Snider. Helen and Rudy were married in 1935, and moved to Spokane, WA in 1940, where they lived for 66 years. Helen was a member of the Manitou Presbyterian Church, an active golfer and loved to spend summers at the family cabin at Couer d' Alene Lake. In later years, Helen resided at Rockwood Retirement Community in Spokane and Madison House in Kirkland, WA.
Helen was preceded in death by husband, Rudy in 1995; and daughter, Joy Crosier in 2006. She is survived by her son, Henry Snider of Kirkland; grandchildren, Heidi Snider Evans of Woodinville, WA, Jake Snider of Seattle, Tim Wilson of Othello, WA and Ronald Wilson, Mark Wilson and Jill Wilson Mills, all of Spokane; eight great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of her Life for family and friends will be held at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, December 6, 2009, at the Madison House in Kirkland, WA. Arrangements by Flintoft's Funeral Home, 425-392-6444.
