Sunday, December 6, 2009

Karen Lee Engelbretson, 58, of Everett, went to be with her Lord December 2, 2009, after a lengthy illness. She was born May 8, 1951, in Tacoma and attended Snohomish schools. She was a member of Snohomish County Junior Sheriff Deputy Association and Camp Fire Horizon. She was a member of the high school band and traveled to Europe with them in 1968. She was a 1969 graduate of Snohomish High School and also went to classes at Everett Community College. Karen served two years in the Army, stationed in Germany as a Food Service Specialist. After the military, she lived in South Carolina for a while, before coming back to the Pacific Northwest, where she worked as a billing clerk for Northwest Administrators. Karen found the Lord and was baptized in 2009.

She is survived by her children Shantelle, Anastasia and William; five grandchildren; father, Douglas Engelbretson and wife, Henri; sister, Paula Lauterbach; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family wishes to thank Pastor Gary Jensen of Zion Lutheran Church, for his visits and comfort given to Karen.

Private Burial will be held at G.A.R. Cemetery, Snohomish, under the direction of Bauer Funeral Chapel, Snohomish. Memorial Services will be held at a later date. Donations are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
