Ruth E. Neal, 96, a 21 year Wenatchee resident and former longtime Omak resident, passed away Sunday morning, December 6, 2009, at Blossom Creek Memory Care Center in Wenatchee. She was born on June 25, 1913, at Japton, AR, to the late Nathan and Ollie Onethia (Thomas) Hill. She was raised and educated in Arkansas and was married to George Dallas Neal on February 12, 1931. They remained in the Japton, AR area, until moving to Pateros in the late 1940's. They moved to Omak in the early 1950's. Ruth worked as a Retail Sales Clerk at the J.C. Penney store in Omak for 28 years, prior to retiring. In 1988, two years after her husband preceded her in death, she moved to make her home in Wenatchee. Ruth was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. She was a member of the Pateros Church of Christ, the Omak Church of Christ and the King's Orchard Church of Christ.
She is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Betty and Dan Keck of Mesa, AZ and Nina Davis of Wenatchee; four grandchildren, Jan (Bob) Love of Sitka, AK, Judy (Tom) Welch of Soldotna, AK, Jeff (Kelly) Sinclair of Sherwood, OR and Wade (Catlyn) Neal of Tacoma; three great-grandchildren, Matt Love of Ecuador, Evan Love of Portland, OR and Rylee Sinclair of Sherwood, OR; and one great-great-granddaughter, Ema Love of Ecuador. She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Dallas Neal; and five brothers.
A Commemoration Service will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. at the King's Orchard Church of Christ, 1610 Orchard Avenue, Wenatchee, with Mr. Dale Linge, Minister, officiating.
