Robert A. Linn, 88, a 23 year resident of East Wenatchee and formerly longtime resident and businessman of the Lake Chelan area, died Sunday, December 6, 2009, at Central Washington Hospital, following a brief illness. He was born October 18, 1921, at Okanogan, WA, the son of Frank and Muriel (Myers) Linn. Soon, the family moved to Azwell and then to Chelan. Bob attended schools at Chelan and graduated from Chelan High School in 1940. During World War II, he served in the Army Air Force. Following his discharge in 1946, he returned to Chelan, where he was employed for a time with a local service station. Later, he built and operated a Mobil gas station, known as "The Trading Post", which he operated from 1951 until 1961. In the mid 1950's, he also built an operated the Applewood Motel. He then began employment with Marion McFadden at Mac's Tire Service and in a few years, was offered the opportunity to purchase the Enterprize Mart, which was also owned by Mr. McFadden. In 1967, he was married to Roberta Lemmons. From 1970 until 1976, he owned and operated the Apple Cup Cafe. He continued operating the Enterprize Mart until the mid 1980's, when he sold it and moved to East Wenatchee. Over the years, he also owned and operated several orchards in the Lake Chelan area and also at East Wenatchee. Bob was a longtime member of the Chelan Eagles Aerie 2218.

His wife, Roberta, preceded him in death in 2000. Survivors include his children, Robert Linn Jr. of Spanaway, Jerry Linn of Chelan Falls, Ronnie Linn of East Wenatchee, David Lee of Bellingham and Allison Hunt of Wenatchee; his special friend of several years, Ornetta Gamble of Wenatchee; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was also preceded in death by three sisters.

A Tribute Service will take place Friday, December 11, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. at Riverview Cemetery, with David Perry officiating. There will be No Visitation. Services have been entrusted to Precht Rose Chapel, Chelan.
