Ruth M. Riggs, 92, a 59 year resident of Brewster, died Tuesday, December 8, 2009, at Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee. She was born October 17, 1917, at Dent, ID, the daughter of Richard and Marabella (Beverly) Ove. She spent her early years in Idaho. In 1932, she was married to Joseph Riggs. Later, they moved to Klamath Falls, OR and then to Chelan, WA in 1946. Since 1950, she had resided at Brewster. Her husband preceded her in death in 1984.
Survivors include her children, Floyd Riggs of Springfield, VA, Roy Riggs of Centralia, Robert Riggs of Brewster, Freyja Easley of Brewster and Thelma Riggs of Brewster; and a sister, Rosie Anderson of Walla Walla. She was also preceded in death by two sons; a daughter; one brother; and one sister.
A Tribute Service will take place on Saturday, December 12, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. at Barnes Chapel in Brewster, with Pastor Kevin Moore officiating. Private Interment will be at Locust Grove Cemetery, in Brewster. Services have been entrusted to Barnes Chapel, Brewster.
