LAB JOB RESUMES: Block-layers raise the north wall of the $1.9 million Agri-culture Research Service laboratory on Western Avenue as a winter shutdown there ends in March 1977.
100 years ago — 1909
“The Heir Apparent” will be presented tomorrow night at the Wenatchee Theatre. The event will be a benefit performance to raise funds for the new commercial club building. Cast members include Elmer Knowles, R. Edward Trumbull, Willis Poe, Leon E. Titus, N.T. Lantern, Ethel Ardron, Sylvia Grant and Helene Scanlin.
50 years ago — 1959
New officers have been elected for the Association of North Central Washington Administrative Women. They are Laura Bigelow of Chelan, president; Marian Sutor of Waterville, vice president; Marjorie Rainier of Chelan, secretary; Patti Patton of Wenatchee, treasurer; Ethel Woods of Wenatchee, publicity; and Marguerite Mann of Wenatchee, program chairwoman.
25 years ago — 1984
An unusual picture will be soon be displayed in the North Central Washington Museum. The scene is done in hair. The artist is Ellen Burch of the family for which Wenatchee’s Burch Mountain was named.
