Blanche (Riste) Carver, 75, a longtime Wenatchee and East Wenatchee resident, passed away at her home, surrounded by her family, following a short and unexpected illness, on December 28, 2009. She was born on June 6, 1934, at Oroville, WA to the late Joseph and Anne (Anderson) Riste. She grew up in Wenatchee and Seattle, graduating from Wenatchee High School in 1953. Shortly after, she met and married the love of her life, Russell Carver. Blanche was a long term resident of Wenatchee and Ellensburg, where she worked as an in-home hospice caregiver. She was a passionate gardener, who spent hours out in her yard and was just as passionate about her pets. She often kept everyone on their toes with her surprising humor and opinions on modern trends.

Blanche went home to be with her Lord and her Russell, a place she looked forward to going with unshakable faith. She left behind two daughters and one son-in-law, Julanne and James Burts of East Wenatchee and Beth Gramkow of Wenatchee; one brother, Tad Riste of Roslyn, WA; grandchildren, Anne and Wes Worden of LaConner, WA, Amber and Larry Higgins of Wenatchee, Alicia and Reece Caouette of Wenatchee and Kira Burts of Redmond; and her great-grandchildren, Sage, Faith, Tarin and Cyan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell; her parents; and two infant brothers.

A Commemoration Service will be held in the Mausoleum Chapel at Evergreen Memorial Park on Saturday, January 2, 2010, at 1:00 p.m. The Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park. Visitation will be at Heritage Memorial Chapel, 19 Rock Island Road, East Wenatchee, on Friday, January 1, 2010, from 4 to 7 p.m. Please sign in or leave a memory for the family online by visiting www.HeritageMemorialChapel.com. Friends who wish, may make memorial donations in her name to CWH Home Health & Hospice. Arrangements are in care of Heritage Memorial Chapel, East Wenatchee.
