George McAlpine

George McAlpine, 83, of Ephrata, died Saturday, Dec. 26, 2009, at Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee.

He was a longtime resident of Ephrata. He had worked for the Great Northern Railway, had been a lineman and worked for the Boeing Co., Puget Power and Weyerhauser. He retired from the Grant County PUD in 1990.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce McAlpine of Ephrata; his children, Dan of Moxee, Terry of Yakima, Dody of Olympia, Dave and Tom, both of Everett, and Bob of Spokane; his stepsons, Ralph Stanley of Austin, Texas, Knight Stanley of Northfield, Minn., Scott Stanley of Mesa, Ariz., and Kriss Stanley of Albuquerque, N.M.; and his sisters, Dolores Merren of Mobile, Ala., and Nancy Oblak of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Rose of Lima Church, with burial to follow at the Ephrata Cemetery. Vigil services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the church.

Arrangements are by Nicoles Funeral Home, Ephrata.
