Marion Ray Friedrich went home to be with the Lord on January 23, 2009. He passed away at Central Washington Hospital, surrounded by loving family. Ray was born in Bonners Ferry, ID, February 18, 1947, to parents, Perry and Mary (Hawks) Friedrich. He graduated from high school and attended the University of Washington. For several years, Ray played lead guitar and singer in several country western bands in Wenatchee, Colorado Springs and on a TV program in Indiana. He loved, most of all, being with his family. Music, camping, boating, fishing and being at the lake or in the woods, where deer would come up and eat out of his hands, were his favorite things. He was an avid reader and spent lots of time reading the bible. He was a people person and well liked by so many. Towards the end of his working career, he worked at Cascade Auto for ten years, where he made many, very wonderful friends.Survivors include his daughter, Marti Dodge and her children, Brett, Taylor and T.J.; his beloved, long-time companion, Arlene Keeler; brothers, Don (Marge), Norm (Beulah) and Bill Friedrich; sisters, Ronda Greer, Joann Mooney, Marlene Craig and Yvonne DeArmond; step-sons, Scott (Rachel) and Tim (Melinda) Keeler; daughter-in-law, JoAnn Keeler; and grandsons, Kyle and Payton Keeler. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bobby and Gene Friedrich; step-son, Kelly Keeler; foster parents, Sid and Violet Andrews; and foster brother, Bill Andrews. The family would like to thank Dr. Brent Barber, nurse Gaydene and Dr. David Notter and nurse Celeste, for the wonderful care they gave. Funeral Services will be held at Jones & Jones ~ Betts Funeral Home on Saturday, January 31, 2009, at 1:00 p.m., with a reception to follow at the Four Square Church, 315 S. Mission, Wenatchee. Services will conclude at the Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to the Cancer Research Institute, One Exchange Plaza, 55 Broadway, Suite 1802, New York, NY 10006.
