Marie Therese Wells

Marie Therese Wells, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, died Thursday, July 2, 2009, at 5:00 p.m., after a very brief illness. She was born in Noumea, New Calendonia, January 8, 1929, to Francis and Josephine Abdelkader. She married Clayton H. Wells on July 1, 1945, in Noumea, New Caledonia, while Clayton was stationed in the United States Navy during WWII. Daughter, Rosemarie, was born at sea aboard the USS Rutland near Hawaii. Son, Richard Clayton, soon followed in 1947. The family first lived in Everett, WA and later relocated to Wenatchee, WA.Marie is survived by her daughter, Rosemarie Hanson of Manson, WA; her son, Dr. Richard C. Wells (Helen) of Wabash, IN. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Andrea (Mark) Shae, Erik Hanson, all of Dutch Harbor, AK, Aaron Hanson, of Anchorage, AK, Marcus (Monica) Wells, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Wells, all of Wabash, IN and Amie Wells (Richard Kennedy) of Melbourne, FL; ten great-grandchildren; her favorite nephew, Tracy Clinton of Wenatchee, WA; and her cherished dog, "Button." Marie was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Clayton H. Wells in 2007.Marie loved life and lived it to its fullest; a born caregiver to all. She so enjoyed camping, fishing, cooking and feeding her family, friends and neighbors. Growing tomatoes and nurturing her roses were passions of hers. She will be forever loved and remembered for her witty sense of humor, compassion and love of family and friends. Nous vous aimons.At Marie's request, there will be a Private Family Service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wenatchee Valley Humane Society. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the caring staff at Central Washington Hospital.
