John L. Brown, longtime resident of Wenatchee, passed away at home in East Wenatchee April 24, 2009. He was born on July 1, 1937, in Ashland, OR to Brock and Olivene Brown. He attended school in Klamath Falls and Ashland, OR and in his late teens, joined the U.S. Air Force. After serving in the military, John married Judith Overbay on June 2, 1960, in Seattle, WA. The couple had two daughters, Kellie and Dana Jean. In 1964, the family moved to Medford, OR for a short time before moving to Wenatchee in 1965. John worked at Wenatchee Paint and Glass as an Auto Glass Installer and had become a junior partner before leaving to start his own business, John's Quality Auto Glass in 1984. In 1991, John expanded that business to include Wenatchee Collision Center, where he worked until semi-retiring in 2007. John loved the outdoors and in earlier years, enjoyed family camping trips, riding dirt bikes and fishing locally and off the Washington Coast.He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Judith; his daughter, Kellie Brown of East Wenatchee; sisters, Loretta Little of Mountlake Terrace and Wanda (Herb) Wallin of Stanwood; brother, Leonard Brown of Ashland, OR; three grandsons; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and daughter, Dana Jean.Grace Lutheran Church in Wenatchee will be holding a brief Memorial Service, as well as a reception, beginning at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, May 7, 2009. Arrangements by Telfords Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
