John Everett Sharp

John Everett Sharp went to be with his Lord and Savior on October 28, 2009, at the age of 60. John was born February 13, 1949, to Melvin and Evelyn Sharp in Pomeroy, WA. In 1957, John moved to Lakeland Village near Spokane, where he lived until 1972, and then to East Wenatchee, where he became one of the very first residents of Mission Vista Group Home. In 1981, John chose to move into an apartment, supported by staff from the Mission Vista Residential Living program. A devoted member of the Holy Apostles Catholic Church in East Wenatchee, John was very active in church activities John participated over the years in several Special Olympics sports, including softball, volleyball, track and field, soccer and basketball. John worked at Supervised Skills, Chelan Douglas Developmental Services, Godfathers Pizza and, most recently, doing janitorial services at the Holy Apostles Catholic Church. John loved movies, dining out, watching the news on TV and, above all, he loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include his father and stepmother, Mel and Dolores Sharp of Chelan; his sister, Linda John of Walla Walla; brother, Don Kelly of Idaho City, ID; sister, Rosemary Davis of Bend, OR; stepbrother, Bob Johnson of Manson; stepsisters, Carole Carlton of Quincy and Cheryl Sanford of Toledo; uncles, Bill, John and Butch Sharp of Boulder City, NV; one niece; and ten nephews.
A Rosary will be recited at Telford's Chapel of the Valley on Sunday, November 1, 2009, at 6:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be Monday, November 2, at 10:00 a.m., at Telford's Chapel of the Valley. Concluding Services and Interment will be Tuesday, November 3, at 11:00 a.m., at the Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Pomeroy. Viewing will take place on Sunday, November 1, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the funeral home. Donations may be made in memory of John to the Mission Vista Quality of Life Fund. Arrangements are by Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
