Mark Rypien: Former Washington State quarterback and Super Bowl Most Valuable Player

WENATCHEE — Tickets are on sale now for the Apple Cup Tailgater luncheon, hosted annually by the Wenatchee Central Lions and the Wenatchee Downtown Rotary.

The luncheon will be begin at 11:15 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 19, at the Wenatchee Center’s upstairs ballroom, and will feature former Washington State quarterback and Super Bowl Most Valuable Player Mark Rypien as the keynote speaker.

Tickets are available at Mitchell Reed & Associates (inside Cashmere Valley Bank in Olds Station), at American Shoe Shop in downtown Wenatchee, and at Edward Jones in East Wenatchee.

Tickets cost $15 in advance or $20 at the door.

The event, held every year as the members of Kappa Sigma fraternity from both UW and WSU run the Apple Cup game ball across the state, will stop in Wenatchee on its way to Husky Stadium.

The ball will be turned over from Washington State’s Kappa Sigmas to their brothers in arms at Washington for the final trek towards Seattle on Nov. 28.

The proceeds from the event will go to each fraternity’s philanthropy, the Fisher House for WSU and Northwest Harvest for UW.
