EPHRATA — A neighbor to a house in the 100 block of Second Avenue Northeast in Ephrata witnessed what looked like a burglary in progress Tuesday.

About 8 a.m., the neighbor called police, who arrived to find stolen items outside the residence.

Sgt. Glen Maryott of the Ephrata Police Department said something spooked the suspects because they drove away from the burglarized residence without items that they had placed outside the house.

Maryott said the neighbor gave officers license plate numbers from the vehicle that the neighbor saw during the burglary and officers are searching for the suspects.
