Our beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, Flora Elizabeth White, 90, passed away on Friday, November 20, 2009, at the Cashmere Convalescent Center. For the past four years, she had been living at the Epledalen Assisted Living Facility in Cashmere. Prior to living in Cashmere, she resided in the Columbia Basin with her husband, Russell, in Quincy and Soap Lake. She was born March 15, 1919, to Marve and Grace Seaman in Little Rock, AR. She grew up in Fulton, KS and graduated from Fulton High School. There she met the love of her life, Russell White. They were married on August 14, 1938. Russell was a Grade A dairy farmer and Flora was busy raising their two daughters, Nancy Sue and Donna Jean. Flora was also very active in the 4-H program and taking the girls to dance lessons. A great seamstress, she made many fancy dance outfits for her daughters. In 1955, Flora and Russell moved to Quincy, WA. She was a longtime employee of the Marshall Wells Hardware Store in Quincy. After retirement from the hardware store, Flora remained active in gardening and taking care of her mother, "Tiny Grandma", who lived with them and for whom she loving cared until Tiny Grandma was 103 years old. After Russell retired from managing Fink and Roberts Orchards in Quincy, they spent the next 17 years living on the Lakeview Golf Course in Soap Lake. They enjoyed their winters in Sun City West, AZ, golfing, bowling and square dancing. Family and close friends were very important to Flora and until recently, she continued to correspond with them on her "electric typewriter." Flora and Russell were married 68 years, before Russell passed away in 2005. At that time, Flora moved to Cashmere, where she enjoyed being with family, playing card games with her great-grandchildren and watching their activities. She continued to amuse her family with her quick wit and sense of humor. Flora was a lifetime member of the Fulton Chapter, Order of Eastern Star.

Flora is survived by her daughters, Nancy Sue and husband, Al Husted of Soap Lake and Donna and husband, Bill Elliott of Cashmere; grandchildren, Val Ketner of Kenmore, WA, Brian Schat of Ukiah, CA, Zachary and wife, Missy Schat of Ukiah, CA, Michelle and husband, Mike Martin of Richland, WA, Russell and wife, Sarah Elliott of Cashmere, WA and Jason and wife, Sonja Elliott of West Seattle, WA; and 16 great-grandchildren.

A Family Memorial Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
